Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
This policy explains what data PassMyEssay collects, how it is stored, who can see it, and the controls you have over it. We try to be straightforward — no claims we cannot back up technically.
1. What we store
When you use PassMyEssay we save the following so the product can work properly and give you a history to come back to:
- Account record: email address, plan, subscription status, and current word-usage counter.
- Humanizer history: the original text you submitted and the humanized output. Each entry is private to your account.
- AI Check history: the text you scanned and the flagged segments returned by the analysis.
- Billing identifiers: a Stripe customer ID we use to look up your subscription. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
We do not use your submissions to train AI models. We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share your essays with Turnitin, GPTZero, or any other third party.
2. Who can see your essays
Only you. Every record is stored against your user ID and protected by database row-level security — the platform itself only returns rows that match the authenticated user. A small group of engineers can technically access the database for support and debugging, but we do not browse user essays.
3. Deleting your data
You can delete any history item from the History panel inside the tool. To delete your entire account and all associated records, email privacy@passmyessay.com from your account email — we will remove it within 30 days.
4. Encryption
Data in transit between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our database provider (Supabase). Payment information is encrypted and handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS standards.
5. Sub-processors
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the service: Supabase (database, auth), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Google Gemini and Groq (AI inference), and Resend (transactional and marketing email). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
6. Marketing emails
If you opt in, we may send occasional product updates and offers. You can opt out from the marketing toggle in your Account modal at any time, or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
7. Children
PassMyEssay is intended for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
