Essay review before Turnitin Review citations and phrasing before your institution’s process

PassMyEssay offers a separate phrase review to help you polish an essay before submission. It does not run Turnitin, search its database or predict a report. Check quotations against sources, keep attribution beside borrowed ideas and use the actual institutional process when a report is required.

How does the essay review before turnitin work?

Reviewing an essay before Turnitin means checking the draft’s argument, citations and wording before submission. PassMyEssay supplies a separate phrase review; it does not access Turnitin or reproduce a Turnitin score.

Prepare your essay without pretending to run Turnitin

PassMyEssay provides a separate phrase review before you submit work through an institution’s process. It does not access Turnitin, reproduce a Turnitin report, check a similarity database or predict a result. Use this page to review your own wording and sources, then consult the actual service or guidance provided by your institution when a report is required.

Start with your draft, prompt and bibliography. Check that each quotation is exact, each borrowed idea has attribution and each paragraph contributes to the answer. Phrase findings can help locate repetitive wording, but they are not evidence that a passage will or will not match another text.

Check citation practice and source use

Review quotation boundaries and compare exact wording with the source. For paraphrases, ensure that the sentence is independently expressed and that the source is still credited. Reorganising or shortening a borrowed idea does not remove the need to cite it.

Look at the assignment’s reference style and include the details it requires. A writing tool cannot verify a citation against an unseen source list or confirm that your interpretation is faithful. Check the bibliography and in-text references together.

Example: revise repetition while retaining attribution

The source and sentence are fictional; the example illustrates an editing choice, not a similarity prediction.

A source-based claim · illustrative example
Before

The report states that bus delays affected attendance. The report also says delays made it harder for students to arrive.

After

The report links bus delays with attendance difficulties, a point relevant to students arriving on time.

The revision combines repeated information but still depends on the report and needs its citation. Confirm that the report supports the phrasing you use.

Use the institution’s report in its own context

If an institutional report is available, follow its instructions and discuss questions with the appropriate instructor or office. Similarity is a signal to interpret, not an automatic finding of misconduct; quoted material, references and common phrases may need contextual review.

Keep drafts and notes that show your writing process. PassMyEssay can help with language editing, but it cannot guarantee a similarity percentage, an AI result or an academic decision.

Audit quotations, paraphrases and references

Mark every direct quotation and compare the words, punctuation and locator with the source. Confirm that block quotes and quotation marks follow the required style.

For each paraphrase, trace the idea to its source and check that the citation is present even when the sentence structure has changed.

Review the bibliography against in-text citations in both directions: each cited source should appear in the reference list, and each listed item should be used as required by the style guide.

Keep the meaning intact

What should you check in the result?

Use any report from your institution in its own context. PassMyEssay cannot guarantee a particular similarity or AI-detection outcome.

For the written argument, use the essay phrase checker, grammar checker or word counter for a separate, clearly defined revision task.
